Deontay Wilder Vs. Derek Chisora Predictions – ‘The Fight Is Black And White'

On April 4, Deontay Wilder and Derek Chisora will face off as pros picked their winner.

After a turbulent period that saw him lose four of his last five outings, Wilder has spent the last year undergoing a total mental and physical overhaul. Wilder has appointed Don House. Wilder officially snapped his losing streak on June 27, 2025, with a one-sided seventh-round TKO of Tyrrell Anthony Herndon.

At 42 years old, Chisora is enjoying an improbable late-career resurgence. Currently riding a three-fight winning streak, he got past the 6’5″ Otto Wallin via a dominant unanimous decision in his last fight. Chisora has stated that this 50th fight will be his final appearance.

Predictions

"Chisora is facing probably still one of the most dangerous punchers on the planet in what could be his last fight. Common sense would say take a softer touch to go out on, but that’s Derek Chisora all over. He obviously wants the money that comes with the Wilder fight, and he’ll be getting paid what he deserves and going out with a bang. I think Wilder, as good as he’s been, has lost that aura now. I think Derek can win the fight late on — just outwork him, outlast him," David Price said

"I feel that you’re getting him at the right time. Not that that’s a problem, but he’s also getting you at the right time, because you’re at the end of your career. I make you a slight favourite because you’ve always got the work rate; you’ve always got that drive and that refusal to quit. When you get on his chest and start pushing him back after round four, five and six, he’s going to be looking at the exit door, thinking, ‘I want to go home," Carl Froch stated

Further Predictions

"The fight is really black and white to me. If Deontay, who’s the hardest puncher in the history of the sport in my opinion, cracked Derek coming in, Derek goes to sleep. If Derek can stay in Deontay’s chest and attempt to drown him and take him into deep waters and drown him, if Deontay doesn’t knock him out, then it could be a long night for Deontay.

"It can be for anybody that fights Chisora. The fight is black and white. Can Deontay knock him out? That’s what we’re going to see. If he can’t knock him out, Chisora’s going to be all over him, like white on rice. I think Deontay Wilder wins by knockout early. But Chisora is gonna let us know if there’s anything left," Malik Scott revealed

"I support Chisora. I think Chisora wins," Oleksandr Usyk stated
