Eubank Jr. Could Get A Title Opportunity
Chris Eubank Jr. has been called out by WBO interim middleweight champion Denzel Bentley.
After his decision loss to Conor Benn in their November 2025 rematch, many speculated Eubank would hang up the gloves. However, he has remained defiant that a major world title is the final piece of his legacy. The WBO’s recent ruling on reigning champion Janibek Alimkhanuly has inadvertently created an opportunity for Eubank. Janibek is currently serving a one-year ban for a failed drug test (meldonium) and is ineligible to fight until December 2, 2026.
If Janibek decides to move up to the super-middleweight division (168 lbs) upon his return, Bentley will be elevated to full world champion. This would transform a Bentley vs. Eubank clash into a massive British World Title homecoming. While Eubank is the primary target, Bentley is also considering veterans like Liam Smith for a defense this summer.
Eubank Jr. React
"I would like to fight Liam Smith and defend it against him. Hopefully I can get them big fights now. I know that Chris Eubank Jnr is moving up but he is fighting at 164lbs. So, maybe he is testing the waters and might come back down. Those two are the biggest names above me in the division right now, so I would love to fight either of those two – and Brad Pauls just put on a great performance the other day. He should have a world title shot next, if he goes and wins that then maybe we can get something going as well," Bentley said
