Holloway Calls Out McGregor

Former BMF Champion Max Holloway called out Conor McGregor for his next fight, saying he will face him at any weight.

Following his recent "BMF" title loss to Charles Oliveira at UFC 326, Holloway is looking to settle old scores. In August 2013, a 21-year-old, Holloway faced McGregor in Boston. McGregor secured a unanimous decision victory despite tearing his ACL mid-fight.

Since that night, both men have built Hall of Fame resumes. McGregor became the sport’s first simultaneous two-weight champion, while Holloway evolved into an elite featherweight, who also picked up the title.

With McGregor (37) recently cleared from his 18-month anti-doping suspension, his return is closer. However, the idea of McGregor ever returning to the lightweight (155 lb) division is slim. By offering to fight at welterweight or higher, Holloway removes the biggest hurdle to booking the fight.

Holloway Reacts

McGregor is being linked with a return for International Fight Week (UFC 330) in Las Vegas. With the White House card already finalized, a Holloway-McGregor rematch could take place.

"Before the fight, I was talking about it,” Holloway said. “I mean Conor’s there, Conor got one over me. He’s talking about coming back. I’m coming off a loss. It would look pretty fun to get that one back with him. I know a lot of people are worried about the weight and this and that. If he doesn’t want to cut weight then I don’t want to cut weight. We can do it at any weight to be honest. It’s just about getting it back," Holloway stated
