Kubrat Pulev Vs. Murat Gassiev Predictions – ‘He Will Catch Him'
The WBA Regular Heavyweight champion Kubrat Pulev steps into the ring against Murat Gassiev this weekend, as we see who will come out on top.
Pulev arrives on a three-fight win streak, with wins against Mahmoud Charr, Ihor Shevadzutskyi, and Andrzej Wawrzyk. His last defeat was a close, split-decision loss to Derek Chisora in 2022. The WBA originally ordered him to defend his title against Moses Itauma. Pulev’s team secured a special permit to face Gassiev, but the condition is clear: the winner must face Itauma next.
"The WBA has reviewed the letters submitted on this matter by legal counsel for Pulev and… Itauma. If the Special Permit Request (filed by Pulev) were to be denied, Pulev intends to reinstitute his previous appeal before the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport)], thus pausing any title defense until a decision from thar body sometime in early 2026.
"In addition, if the WBA were forced to call for a purse bid for a Pulev-Itauma bout, such a bout also could not practically occur until 2026. Either situation would cause both Pulev and Itauma to have a significant period of inactivity, detrimental to both of them," WBA said
Gassiev, the Russian knockout artist, has won six of his seven bouts at heavyweight, with his only divisional defeat coming via a split decision against Otto Wallin.
Pre-Fight
"This undercard exemplifies the very best of what IBA Pro events have become synonymous with – evenly matched fights that guarantee excitement and unpredictability. From title eliminators to rematches with bad blood, these bouts will provide fans with non-stop action leading up to the main event: the WBA Heavyweight title clash between Kubrat Pulev and Murat Gassiev. The stakes could not be higher on December 12 and, thanks to our great President Umar Kremlev, we have put on a show that will captivate audiences around the world. Don’t miss it," IBA Pro General Director Al Siesta said
