Silva Is The Best Middleweight, Paul Accuses Diaz Of Ducking
Anderson Silva has been named as the best middleweight of all time.
That is according to Michael Bisping. Silva’s record certainly speaks for itself. The former UFC middleweight champion has big-name wins over Forrest Griffin, Chael Sonnen, and Vitor Belfort.
Not only that, but Silva also managed to achieve records which included ten wins in a row, as well as having ten title defenses. As of now, the current middleweight champion is Israel Adesanya.
Adesanya Vs. Silva
The former has also managed to impress in his career, including having a major win over Alex Pereira as he knocked out the Brazilian to become the current middlweight champion.
But given that Bisping has faced Silva, as he secured a win over him during the latter parts of his career, he has had a few words to say about who was the best middleweight. And he chose Silva over Adesanya hands down.
Silva’s Credentials
"That’s not what I’m doing. They’re both incredible. I’m fans of them both. Right now, the greatest middleweight of all time without question is Anderson Silva, but Israel Adesanya is still only 34 years old. The man is still in his prime, and he’s fighting every few months," Bisping
Nevertheless, if Adesanya continues to notch-up more impressive victories, then he will rightly put himself into the conversation.
And given that he had also beaten Silva, albeit towards the end of the latter’s career, he does have that win on his resume. And there is no denying that.
Paul On Diaz
Meanwhile, Jake Paul has accused Nate Diaz of ducking an offer to fight him in MMA. Following their boxing bout on August 5th, 2023, Paul made a $10 million offer to Diaz for an MMA bout in the PFL.
This was on the basis that Diaz had fought Paul in a boxing match that he lost, so therefore, the latter was ready to crossover into MMA.
Although that may have been the case, nothing has materialized with regards to a Paul-Diaz MMA bout. And now the ‘Problem Child’ has accused Diaz of getting out of the fight.
"We’re at the drawing board right now. Nate Diaz ducked the $10 million offer, so he’s not the badass that everyone said he was. I wanted to fight him in MMA and do something that no boxer has really ever done, which is, in the prime of their career, go over to MMA. MMA fighters have gone over to boxing, but I want to go over to MMA and Nate Diaz ducked the offer," Paul
Nevertheless, this could simply be an attempt by Paul to hype up the fight. The ‘Problem Child’ did accuse Diaz of not doing enough to promote the first fight. However, that did not impact the numbers of the fight given that it had sold a reported 500,000 pay-per-view numbers.
But when it comes to making the fight, there could be a few complications. Paul’s MVP Promotions would want a part to play in the fight.
Meanwhile, Diaz’s Real Fight Inc promotions would have to be a part of the negotiations too. And of course there is the issue of whether Diaz would be willing to fight in the PFL. And until those issues are resolved, then a fight is still some way.
