UFC Teams Up With ABC For White House Card
The UFC has confirmed a partnership with the Association of Boxing Commissions (ABC) to provide independent oversight for UFC Freedom 250 on June 14.
By enlisting the ABC—the national body that sets the standards for all state commissions—the UFC has bypassed the local red tape. ABC President Timothy Shipman confirmed that his organization will "officially license and sanction" all contests on the card.
- Neutral Officials: The ABC will hand-pick a group of world-class referees and judges, ensuring that no "home-field" bias exists on the presidential grounds.
- Medical Governance: While the UFC will follow its internal safety protocols, the ABC will provide third-party doctors to conduct mandatory pre-fight and post-fight physical examinations.
- Enhanced Security: Given the venue, all ABC-appointed inspectors and officials must pass Secret Service background checks, matching the security clearance required for the fighters and their corner teams.

"As the event is being held on federal property, there is no requirement for the UFC to select a state athletic commission to oversee the event. The UFC expresses its commitment to ensuring that this event is among the most thoroughly regulated in the history of the sport and has requested that the ABC serve as an independent third party to assist in assembling the most qualified group of judges, referees, and inspectors in the world.
"The UFC has further confirmed that it will abide by all applicable regulatory requirements in support of this event, including all required medical examinations, pre-bout and postbout physicals, and athlete safety protocols. All bouts on this card are officially licensed and sanctioned contests,” Timothy Shipman (ABC President)
